Having accepted your invitation to the MLG, Residential 1 is preceded by a one hour phone consultation to reflect on your experience of mission & ministry to date (with the Bishops Pastoral Advisor) and attendance at a Preparation Day (usually held at Cuthbert House). These are valuable times to meet the team, meet fellow participants and to begin to dig into the MLG material.
Between residentials participants complete a personality inventory using the INSIGHTS toolbox and a gifts assessment (APEST), both of which will help you consider how to express mission in your context in a way which is best informed by how God has made you.
Following residential 2 incumbents and their local Mission Team begin work on planning a mission project and considering how to strengthen missional confidence and rhythms in their church in order to reach the people of the parish around us. Mission Support Partners are available to provide ideas, support and to speak with PCC’s and congregations.
Towards the end of the 12 month cycle each of the clergy and their teams gather for a follow up day to celebrate, share our learning and plan the longer term.
